Chulahoma MS 1999-2000

Junior Kimbrough’s juke joint in Chulahoma, MS was riotous celebration of texture and color, with architectural filigrees, folk art murals and glitter covering every surface. Above the boarded-up windows near the entrance of the juke, there once were 2 Miller beer advertisements, painted and splashed with glitter. After fire destroyed the building in 2000, all that remained was the melted front of one of the two beer signs, seen here.
