Most of the objects depicted in these 25 ambrotypes were once owned and used by the Hoodoo Lady of Natchez, Rosalie Kastor aka “Madam Sunshine.” Kastor worked her spells for clients around the region from a historic home on Winston Hill. Other objects depicted in this piece include ritual objects acquired in Memphis, New Orleans and 2 animal fetuses purchased in the witch markets of La Paz, Bolivia as sacrifices to the Incan mountain goddess, Pachamama, a pre-Columbian Earth Mother and fertility goddess.
